Hey there, time traveller!

Over the past few years, the cost of purchasing a new home has skyrocketed due to the increased cost of building and finishing materials.
Consequently, a luxury home priced at $700,000 in 2019 is now priced at more than $900,000 — and that’s without a fully finished lower level.
Imagine, then, that a next-to-new luxury home were to come available for well under that $900,000 price point.
It’s not imaginary in this instance, says Shona Scappaticci of Realty Executives First Choice.
“I just listed a custom built KDR Homes masterpiece in Prairie Pointe for $825,000,” she says of the striking 1,824 square-foot, two-storey home. “The owners moved into it in July — it was their dream home — but they now have to move due to a job transfer.”
Scappaticci says the exquisitely designed home represents a great opportunity to get into a luxury home that’s ready to go in every conceivable area.
“Whoever is fortunate enough to purchase this home won’t have to do anything except move in and enjoy everything it has to offer. It comes with high-end appliances, and upgraded finishes throughout. The backyard deck is in place, and the lower level is also fully finished.”
Simply put, the home is a functional work of art from start to finish.
That artistry starts in the generous foyer, which ushers you inside in luxurious fashion courtesy of a gorgeous black-and-white marble tile floor.
Take a few steps forward into the home’s main living area, and that luxurious feel goes up a notch or two, says Scappaticci.
“You immediately find yourself standing in a spectacular great room with a soaring ceiling, wall of windows, and a linear fireplace surrounded by a feature wall composed of the same tile used in the foyer. Lovely two-tone grey vinyl plank flooring ties in wonderfully with the black-and-white colour scheme, while a circular light fixture above looks incredible.”
She adds that the adjacent dining/kitchen area also possesses its fair share of wow factor.
“The dining area can accommodate a table for up to 10 guests, while the kitchen is an absolute chef’s dream with stunning two-tone cabinetry, quartz countertops and a huge, functional island with double sink that seats three. A large window on its rear wall lets in more natural light while a patio door with a transom leads out to a large backyard deck.”
A striking, angular staircase with black trim, white borders and tempered glass inserts next to the living room then provides stylish access to the home’s second floor.
“It has a lovely open feel and overlooks the main living area,” Scappaticci says. “It also creates an open, luxurious feel upstairs.”
That feeling of quiet, understated luxury starts with a lavish four-piece bath with a gorgeous grey tile floor and soaker tub surrounded by the same sumptuous tile.
As expected, both secondary bedrooms are oversized with large windows and ample storage space.
“There’s also a large laundry room with a sink, cabinets and even a place to hang clothes to dry above the sink,” she notes.
It’s then on to the well-isolated primary bedroom, which envelopes you in rich, understated luxury the moment you step inside.
“All the little details add up,” says Scappaticci. “A tray ceiling with a beautiful LED light fixture adds a touch of class, while the walk-in closet has a window and separate closets. The incredible ensuite features a free-standing air jet soaker tub, glass shower and vanity with double sinks. In all, the primary is a space where you can end the day in peace and luxury.”
Head downstairs to the home’s lower level, and you find that it’s fully finished.
“That truly is a huge bonus. It comes with a wet bar with cabinets and quartz countertop, a rec room with games and media areas, a fourth bedroom and lovely four-piece bath,” she says. “There’s no need to develop the lower level — it’s all been done for you, including a 240-volt charging port for an electric vehicle in the garage.”
Add in a desirable location, and the artistic yet practically designed home is a true find, says Scappatici.
“It’s in a quiet cul-de-sac in close proximity to trails, parks and the beautiful Bridgwater fountains, and you’re nearby shopping, services and restaurants on Kenaston,” she adds. “The attention to detail, quality and style is simply incredible throughout. And most important, every upgrade is in place. All you need to do is move in and enjoy.”
