With travel at a standstill and many Manitobans staying put this summer, cabin fever may have taken on a new twist. In recent Features, we’ve shared with you the many options for creative staycations. Our Homes section is filled with renovation ideas, and backyard planning has never been so prominent. But if the extra hours of day dreaming have led you to the decision that you’re ready to make a move, draw up plans for your forever home, and get ready.
Synonymous with freedom, as in school is back in session; fall often affords parents a little more room to breathe, less refereeing required. And although this year’s education protocols aren’t quite laid out, plans for the Fall Parade of Homes are. A staple in the Winnipeg real estate market, the ‘Parade brings together dreamers and builders. Custom carpenters and interior designers. Furniture shops and landscape architects to show case beautiful engineering and design.
Lanny McInnes, President and CEO of Manitoba Home Builders Association says, “Our Parade show homes provide you with a wide variety of home design choices as well as the finest examples of Manitoba craftsmanship and creativity. These show homes represent the best in home design and construction available anywhere in Canada.”
Dark blues, natural and organic elements along with concrete creations are on trend for 2021. Modern designs, statement pieces and face lined graphic art remains on point. Industrial at home continues to play big, light and welcoming meets warehouse. Have you noticed more projects than you’re prepared to tackle while insulated at home, or a need for more functional space, or for a home office/gaming room/yoga studio? Perhaps a trip through the ‘Parade is just the solution.
Grab a coffee, your Moleskin and family (or not) and get ready to get inspired 2020 style.
Viewing Pleasures
Even though the 2020 Spring Parade of Homes concluded earlier than scheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the amazing array of Parade Show Homes featured during the ‘Parade continue to be open for your viewing pleasure, but in a different way than usual. Increased health and safety measures, as well as adhering to social/physical distancing and sanitation guidelines, are necessary for everyone at this time including those working in or visiting builder show homes. These measures are in place to allow you to visit these amazing show homes in as safe an environment as possible.
So where can you find out information on show home locations and hours? You can visit the MHBA website at www.homebuilders.mb.ca and click on the “Parade of Homes” tab. Our members look forward to your visit.
