Associate editor, news

Stacey Thidrickson got a taste for journalism as a teenager when she got her first byline in the Selkirk Journal — the same newspaper that helped launch her career more than 20 years ago.

She worked at the Interlake Spectator, Stonewall Argus, Portage la Prairie Daily Graphic and Winnipeg Sun before landing a copy editor’s job at the Winnipeg Free Press in 2007.

Stacey became the Free Press’ first female night news editor, curating hundreds of front pages. She moved into the position of associate editor of operations and engagement in 2018 and became associate editor of news in 2020.
