KELOWNA, B.C. - Ty Young stopped all 30 shots he faced and the Prince George Cougars blanked the Kelowna Rockets 3-0 in Western Hockey League play on Tuesday.

The Cougars (17-17-3) opened the scoring with a goal from Cole Dubinsky 16:21 into the first period and Blake Eastman added a short-handed tally before the end of the frame.

Viliam Kmec made it 3-0 with his second goal of the season 14:31 into the second.

Talyn Boyko stopped 34-of-37 shots for the Rockets (13-21-3).

REGINA - The Regina Pats welcomed Connor Bedard home from the world junior hockey championship on Sunday, and the MVP for Team Canada responded by scoring four goals and adding two assists as the Pats defeated the Calgary Hitmen 6-2 in Western Hockey League action.

Bedard, a key figure in Canada's gold-medal victory in Halifax and Moncton, is expected to be the top pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Tanner Howe and Alexander Suzdalev also scored for the Pats (19-19-1-1), who were outshot 44-27.

Carson Wetsch and Jacob Wright scored for the Hitmen (21-12-3-1).

THE Winnipeg Ice acquired forward Easton Armstrong from the Regina Pats in exchange for defenceman Omen Harmacy on Saturday.

Armstrong, 19, is a bruising 6-3 204-pound winger who has managed steady offensive production with 13 goals and 22 points to his name this season.

The Los Angeles product joins an Ice squad that is looking down at the rest of the Western Hockey League’s eastern conference with a 28-5-0 record.

SASKATOON - Trevor Wong scored twice and added an assist as the Saskatoon Blades defeated the Red Deer Rebels 6-2 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday.

Egor Sidorov, Conner Roulette, Vaughn Watterodt and Lukas Hansen added single goals for the Blades (26-6-2-1), who were outshot 29-27 at the SaskTel Centre.

Ryker Singer scored twice for the Rebels (26-8-1-3), who trailed 2-1 after the first period and 5-1 heading into the third.

REGINA - Scott Ratzlaff stopped 28 shots for the shutout as the Seattle Thunderbirds downed the Regina Pats 6-0 in Western Hockey League play Friday night.

Lucas Ciona and Jordan Gustafson led the way offensively for Seattle (28-4-1-1) with two goals apiece. Coster Dunn scored the other.

Kelton Pyne made 28 saves for Regina (18-19-1-1).

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Ben Hemmerling scored the game-winning goal 1:28 into overtime as the Everett Silvertips snapped a five-game skid, defeating the Kamloops Blazers 3-2 on Wednesday.

Ryan Hofer and Jackson Berezowski each had a goal and an assist for Everett (17-17-1). Hemmerling also added a helper, while Tyler Palmer stopped 22 shots.

Ryan Michael and Kaden Hammell responded for Kamloops (21-7-4-2), which has lost two in a row. Dylan Ernst had 38 saves.

The Silvertips went 2-for-6 on the power play and outshot the Blazers 41-24. Kamloops was 1-for-2 with the man advantage.

SASKATOON - Grayden Siepmann scored 53 seconds into overtime and the visiting Calgary Hitmen pulled off the comeback in defeating the Saskatoon Blades 3-2 in Western Hockey League action on Tuesday night.

The Blades led 2-0 with 10 minutes left in the third period, but Oliver Tulk (10:19) and Sean Tschigerl (15:04) tied the game for the Hitmen (19-11-3-1) and forced overtime.

Brandon Lisowsky and Vaughn Watterodt scored for the Blades (25-6-2-0). Both teams had 30 shots on net.

The Blades are listed fifth in the Canadian Hockey League's top-10 rankings this week.

CALGARY - Kai Uchacz notched a hat trick for the Red Deer Rebels in a 5-3 win over the host Calgary Hitmen on Sunday in the Western Hockey League.

Uchacz scored his third of the game into an empty net to seal Red Deer's victory. It was his third hat trick in four games.

In Sunday's other games, the Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-2 and the Prince Albert Raiders dumped the Regina Pats 5-2.

Red Deer's Jace Isley contributed a goal and an assist and Ollie Josephson also scored for the Rebels (26-6-1-3) atop the Central Division.

WINNIPEG - Ben Zloty scored 44 seconds into overtime and the Winnipeg ICE defeated the Saskatoon Blades 2-1 in a battle of Western Hockey League powers on Saturday.

Ty Nash of Winnipeg snapped a scoreless tie at 1:30 of the third with his 14th goal of the season, but Vaughn Watterodt tied the game five minutes later for the Blades (25-6-1-0) with his 14th of the season as well.

Matthew Savoie and Zach Benson assisted on both goals for the Eastern Conference-leading ICE (28-5-0-0). Winnipeg outshot Saskatoon 28-23.

Earlier in the day, the ICE acquired Ottawa Senators' prospect Carson Latimer in a deal with the Prince Albert Raiders. Heading to Saskatchewan are forward Aiden Oiring and two third-round draft picks (2024 and 2025 drafts).

WINNIPEG - Daniel Hauser earned a 23-save shutout as the Winnipeg Ice defeated the Saskatoon Blades 2-0 on Friday.

Evan Friesen and Ty Nash scored for Western Conference-leading Winnipeg (27-5-0).

Goaltender Ethan Chadwick stopped 22 shots for Saskatoon (25-6-0), which sits a nearby third in the conference.

The two sides will meet again on Saturday.

RED DEER, Alta. - Kai Uchacz had a hat trick as the Red Deer Rebels picked up their second straight win, defeating the Calgary Hitmen 4-1 on Thursday.

Frantisek Formanek scored the other for Red Deer (24-6-1-3). Rhett Stoesser stopped 28 shots.

David Adaszynski replied for Calgary (18-10-3-1). Ethan Buenaventura made 24 saves.

The Rebels went 1-for-5 on the power play, courtesy of Uchacz, who also scored a short-handed marker. The Hitmen were 0-for-5 and outshot Red Deer 29-28.

MOOSE JAW, Sask. - Ryder Korczak scored three goals and Connor Ungar stopped 34 of 35 shots as the Moose Jaw Warriors knocked off the visiting Winnipeg ICE 3-1 in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday.

Matthew Savoie scored for the Eastern Conference-leading ICE, who lost for only the fifth time this season. They have 26 wins.

The Warriors (21-12-0-0), who got a two-assist effort from Brayden Yager, were outshot 35-24.

SASKATOON - Vaughn Watterodt scored three goals, Austin Elliott only faced 16 shots and the Saskatoon Blades won their 25th game of the Western Hockey League season by beating the visiting Prince Albert Raiders 3-1 on Tuesday night.

Carter Anderson's goal at 18:53 of the third period prevented Elliott from posting the shutout.

The Blades led 2-0 after the first period and took a 3-0 lead into the third. Saskatoon outshot Prince Albert 35-16.

The Raiders' record slipped to 11-20-2.

CALGARY - Brayden Peters posted a 20-save shutout as the Calgary Hitmen defeated the Edmonton Oil Kings 5-0 for their straight victory on Sunday.

Tomis Marinkovic, Sean Tschigerl, Keagan Slaney, Riley Fiddler-Schultz, with a goal and an assist, and Oliver Tulk each scored for Calgary (17-9-3-1).

Kolby Hay stopped 44 shots for Edmonton (4-28-1), which lost its 11th straight.

The Oil Kings went 0-for-7 on the power play, while the Hitmen went 0-for-3.
