It’s been a dozen years since Mike Keane hung up the skates. But the current player development co-ordinator for the Winnipeg Jets has been named an honourary captain for the upcoming American Hockey League All-Star game
Keane will join Montreal Canadiens alumni Yvon Lambert for the event, which is being held February 5-6 in Laval, Que.
Keane played more than 1,600 professional games over 22 seasons, including a pair of stints in the AHL. The final one came with the Manitoba Moose where he spent five years as captain before retiring in 2010. He’s a three-time Stanley Cup champion with Montreal, Colorado and Dallas.
