In a bid to help restaurants, mom-and-pop shops and other local businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Free Press launched a service to help our community connect with companies still open for business.

In partnership with Bold Commerce, the Free Press hosted the listing service buylocal.ly on our site. This free directory enabled businesses still operating to provide details such as hours of service, delivery or pick-up options, and new or different products and services.

As most jurisdictions scaled back restrictions on business operation in the summer of 2021, the Free Press and Bold Commerce has discontinued the service.  The buylocal.ly site closed on Aug. 12, 2021.
