HAIRSTYLING students are sharpening their scissors to help out the Christmas Cheer Board Wednesday.

The Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology students will host the annual cut-a-thon for charity at the Henlow Campus — 130 Henlow Bay.

Students will offer a full slate of haircuts and styling services at a discounted rate.

“Most of the services are in the $10 to $40 range,” said Alyson Pile, MITT senior manager of communications.

“All of the services are offered by our students and supervised by our qualified instructors.”

Pile said clients can request the following services: cuts, styles, conditioning, braids, perms and colouring.

All proceeds raised will go to the Cheer Board.

Instructor Mary Elliott says she came up with the idea 18 years ago as a way for students to showcase their skills while supporting a charitable cause.

This fundraiser takes place from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
