Winnipeg Free Press reporter Kevin Rollason has tested negative for the COVID-19 virus.

In a column Saturday, Rollason wrote that he and members of his family were told by doctors to be tested because they had become sick during and after a recent vacation to the United States. On Tuesday, he was notified he and his family had tested negative. He was notified 91 hours after getting the test on Friday.

“It’s wonderful to know that I was just sick, likely a flu, even though I had a flu shot last fall,” Rollason said.

“But I know there are others who didn’t receive the results I did — and many more to come. So, to do our part for our community, we have been told to continue to self-isolate until all of our symptoms are gone and we will follow that advice.

“I also know that a negative result now doesn’t mean I won’t get a positive result later. We are literally all in this together,” he said.
