A 19-year-old man has been identified as the victim of Winnipeg’s 30th homicide this year.
The Winnipeg Police Service said Darlus Dary Darrien McKay was slain Monday on the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue.
Police were called to the scene at 9:25 a.m. Monday after receiving reports there was a “male down” in the front yard of a home.
In an interview with CBC, McKay’s mother, Tina McKay, said her son had been shot to death. She further claimed her son had recently fallen in with a bad crowd and was involved in drugs.
Police are asking anyone with information on the crime to contact homicide investigators at 204-986-6508.
