Job Title: Apprentice Industrial Mechanic

Department: Technical Maintenance

Wage Rate:  As per Collective Agreement

Posting Date:  November 27, 2025

Closing Date:  4:00 p.m. December 4, 2025

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with troubleshooting of equipment affecting production.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on printing presses, automated equipment and any other related equipment.
  • Assist with the installation and testing of any new equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, issues or safety issues.
  • Commitment to ongoing safety practices.
  • Willingness to continue to work towards attaining journeyman status (tuition and academic requirements are the responsibility of the apprentice).

Qualifications

  • Certificate in an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, printing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and use basic hand and power tools and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
  • Strong communication skills and able to collaborate with various departments.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. and performing manual tasks.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends (24/7-hour operation).
