Winnipeg’s newest buses take a river route.
Water buses have returned to the city for the first time in six years. Rides along the Red and Assiniboine rivers are set to begin this Sunday and run daily.
Users can hop on and off at seven different docks. Single fares are $6, while unlimited monthly memberships cost $200. A two-way ticket is $10 and all-day unlimited rides cost $20.
People can pay via credit card upon boarding the boat.
Buses will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on weekdays and 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily. Stops include docks at The Forks, Hugo, Norwood, Stephen Juba Park, the Manitoba Legislative Building, the Assiniboine river walk at the Midtown Bridge and the Esplanade Riel.
Winnipeg Waterways and The Forks have partnered on the water bus service. The new company is headquartered at The Forks and will also run boat tours.
