Incumbent Sherri Rollins has secured a second term on city council.
Rollins won 76 per cent of the popular vote, well ahead of Michael Thompson, with 24 per cent.
First elected in 2018, Rollins has filled numerous roles, including sitting in the mayor’s inner circle as a member of the executive policy committee. She has also served as chair of protection, community services and parks, and sat on the city’s finance committee as well as five business improvement zone boards.
In her future term, Rollins plans to prevent public service cuts, grow recreation and economic development, and reduce crime and poverty.
This was Michael Thompson’s second attempt to earn the Fort Rouge – East Fort Garry council seat; he also ran against Rollins in 2018.
