The Winnipeg Goldeyes fell 7-3 to the visiting Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Wednesday night.
The Fish drop to 23-18 while the RedHawks improve to 30-12. The two sides will meet again today at Shaw Park for the rubber match with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. The Goldeyes won Game 1 of the three-game series 6-4 on Tuesday.
Rookie pitcher R.J. Martinez took the loss for the Fish on Wednesday by coughing up six runs on nine hits in six innings of work. Martinez is now 4-2 with a 4.10 ERA.
Goldeyes outfielder Max Murphy hit a home run and had two RBI on the night.
Peyton Wigginton, now 2-1, earned the win for the visitors. Wigginton pitched five innings, giving up three runs on five hits.
