Infrastructure Minister Ron Schuler was in the legislative building Friday but took part in all of the proceedings remotely.

The MLA for Springfield is one of two MLAs who refuses to publicly divulge their vaccine status.

The other is Seine River MLA Janice Morley-Lecomte. Sources told the Free Press that the PC MLA explained to participants at a Legislative Assembly Management Commission behind closed doors this week that she is fully vaccinated but doesn’t want the public to know.

Both she and Schuler have not entered the chamber, which is limited to those who are fully vaccinated or have proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

On Friday, Schuler fielded questions during question period in the chamber virtually from his office. Later, he took part in a budget estimates meeting held in a committee room just down the hall from his second-floor office.
