Hutterites in Manitoba have had to adjust their communal way of life to cope with COVID-19 outbreaks.
It’s been tough for one family on the Baker Colony, about 90 minutes west of Winnipeg.
Tirzah Maendel went into isolation more than two weeks ago after her mother tested positive despite having no symptoms.
Maendel said she missed being with colony members, but did what was necessary to keep everyone safe.
“Shame and blame, there is no need for any of that. We’re here to help each other,” said Maendel.
