The camping season kicks off in Manitoba this weekend, and for many residents, it will be the first opportunity to get out of town during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Provincial campgrounds are open, and visitors are reminded to maintain social distancing and avoid socializing in groups larger than 10 and with those outside their household. Shared amenities such as washrooms and showers will be cleaned and sanitized freqently.

Visitor and vehicle access at Riding Mountain National Park remains closed over the long weekend.

The Free Press is not publishing a print edition on May 18 (Victoria Day) but will publish an e-edition that’s free to all subscribers. Readers can also visit winnipegfreepress.com for the latest news and information.
