A popular radio DJ’s suspension is over.
Dave Wheeler of 92 CITI FM was back on the air Monday, a week after he was silenced for posting videos on social media many people deemed offensive.
The videos were called Transcona Girls, to the tune of California Girls by the Beach Boys, and North End Boy, to the tune of Thank God I’m a Country Boy by John Denver.
Some who were offended by the videos staged a protest outside the 92 CITI FM studio on Osborne Street.
Wheeler issued an apology Monday.
“Every day we try to entertain our audiences but sometimes it can go too far, and that’s what happened. There comes a point where something intended as a joke just isn’t funny,” he said.
