Two styles of masks

Two styles of masks, one rectangular the other pre-curved. Both styles have two layers, no pocket for filter. Both are 100% cotton or 65/35 poly/cotton, and the ear loop is made of elastic. Three-layer cotton masks

These are made using three layers of quality 100% cotton fabrics. All fabrics have been rewashed. I am an experienced seamstress and I did a lot of research and trial before choosing my design. It is fitted but comfortable and stay in place; no more touching your face trying to adjust the mask! They come in two sizes: child and adult. All masks have a pocket to insert a filter should you choose to use one. A thin piece of knit fabric is used as ties. You can also insert elastics, ribbon or any other fastener you wish to use in the side tabs. We found the knit strip to be most comfortable and ensures a great fit for most sizes.

  Free cotton masks

We provide reusable 2 layer cotton masks at no cost. We are entirely volunteer based and do not charge for the masks no matter the order size. We do accept donations that go towards purchasing materials for our sewing superstars! Both adult and child sizes available; we are also able to accomodate larger orders for businesses or nonprofit groups as well as individual orders. Pick up is in River Heights but we do deliveries with in the city once a week. If there is a great need for an order to be sent outside Winnipeg, we ask that you pay the mailing cost. We are always on the look out for more volunteers to help with making the masks as well and we provide all the fabric and supplies to make them.

I have handmade two layer pleated style masks available that are made of 100% cotton (new material). Retired dressmaker with years of experience, very good equipment and lots of fabric scraps but can’t get find any suitable elastic. If you can help me with that, I’ll help you with masks.

Someone who can utilize old clothing to make masks and scrub caps

Wondering if any makers could utilize clothing that has been set aside for donation. Due to COVID precautions, shelters are not accepting clothing donations. Mix of clothing fabrics. I understand if they can’t be used.

Scrub caps are also a need in hospital settings if you are able to make those out of clothing fabrics.

I only ask that if you are charging for the masks, that you donate a percentage of earnings to a shelter in Winnipeg (honour system). Or have them be free.

If clothes can be used, I’m sure other people would love to donate for masks and I could spread the word. I have no sewing skills, I am a frontline worker just trying to help as much as I can.

A mask-maker to sew with provided fabric

I have some fabric that I would like to turn into two-panel masks. I do not have elastics. I had some fabric printed with my union’s logo, and I would like to turn this all into a fundraising effort. I paid $100 for the printing of the masks, and the maker should get compensated as well, and then the rest would go to charity.

With what I have, I think about 80 masks could be made, and at $10 a mask, if the mask maker takes $100, we would have $600 for charity.
