One well-fed Winnipegger ordered meals from Skip the Dishes nearly twice a day, every single day of the year.

Since Jan. 1, this person ordered from Skip the Dishes 611 times, according to numbers provided by the Winnipeg-based meal-delivery service. While that sounds like a lot of orders, it’s more than 150 meals off the country’s most prolific orderer, an unknown diner who ordered 764 times — or more than twice a day, every day, for the entire year.

In terms of dollar figures, Arianna Dametto, a Skip the Dishes spokesperson, said, “Winnipeg’s biggest order was a whopping $1,525, and it included 99 orders of tea and an enormous breakfast spread.” This number looks impressive until you learn the priciest order in Canada this year was $4,004 placed in the greater Toronto area.

So, what are Winnipeggers ordering from Skip the Dishes?

Taking first place is McDonald’s Junior Chicken sandwich, which was ordered more than 41,500 times. “If you stacked every burger ordered on top of one another, it’d reach the top of Forks Market Tower more than 115 times,” Dametto said.

In second place is Junior’s Fat Boy burger with nearly 32,500 orders. “With all of those orders, you’d be able to put about 2 burgers in every seat at Bell MTS Place for a Jets game,” she said.

Poutine came in third place with more than 30,000 orders.

Two of the city’s three most popular items this year were different from the rest of Canada, with the top three national favourites being butter chicken, poutine, and dynamite rolls.

With more than 800 Winnipeg restaurants available on Skip the Dishes, the three most popular restaurants were Junior’s, Dim Sum Garden and Clay Oven.
