This process has become an essential part of my artistic identity\, grounded in the exploration of emotion\, connection\, and reflection. \nEach piece unfolds through the layering of multiple alcohol ink colour blends\, manipulated through droplets\, brushes\, knives\, and other tools\, revealing complexity and harmony. The final layer\, featuring carefully and randomly placed lines and dots in acrylic\, suggests a journey that is more controlled than the flow of ink in the layers below\, while following the path presented.  The dots move rhythmically across the surface like steps on a life map\, representing the paths we walk\, the choices we make\, and the passage of time. \nThe act of applying each dot is both deliberate and meditative\, a process that bridges the visual and the introspective. Working on these pieces reflects a moment of contemplation\, an opportunity to process the truths in the news\, in life\, and in my health journey.  Each piece translates into something tangible\, luminous\, and deeply human.  \nMy artwork continues to evolve as life around me changes. The big shifts that unfolded in 2025 have brought new perspectives\, adventures\, and moments to process\, each one finding its way into the work as it grows and transforms. \nBio:\nJordan Miller\, a Winnipeg artist\, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Manitoba in 2002. She holds a diploma in Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Winnipeg. She was the founder and owner of cre8ery gallery & studio for 18.5 years before closing May 1\, 2025 to become a full-time artist and part time art mentor. \n​​She was the recipient of the 35th Annual Woman of Distinction Award\, in the Arts Category (2011) and she was one of three finalists for the Future Leaders Of Manitoba Awards (2015).\n​\n​Jordan has exhibited at Pulse Gallery\, Birchwood Art Gallery\, Fleet Galleries\, cre8ery\, Gallery Lacosse\, Urban Shaman Gallery\, Gallery 111\, outworks\, Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba Gift Shop\, Gallery in the Park\, Prairie Fusion\, Gallery 210\, and Golden Prairie Arts Council. \n​She is a member of Manitoba Society of Artists\, Creative Manitoba\, Manitoba Arts Network\, Artists AccessAbility Network Manitoba and Mentoring Art for Women’s Art (MAWA). She is collected across Canada\, the United States and in several countries around the world.  She is collected by the Province of Manitoba and by Winnipeg incorporated businesses.

DESCRIPTION:An introduction to the Lingle Lab’s long-term research on coyotes\, white-tailed deer and mule deer. \nInstructor: Dr. Susan Lingle \nHow similar is the cry of a newborn deer\, bat\, seal\, or human? This workshop will begin with a short visual tour of the McIntyre Ranch\, a significant native rough fescue grassland in southern Alberta\, and an introduction to the Lingle Lab’s long-term research on coyotes\, white-tailed deer and mule deer. Dr. Lingle will then introduce methods in animal communication that her lab used to test the similarity of cries made by different species. The lab’s research has helped to reveal the tremendous evolutionary heritage in the way humans and other animals communicate and respond to emotions.

With no scheduled entertainment\, the focus remains on browsing\, connecting with vendors\, and finding unique pieces. \nSaturday\, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. continues the full vendor experience with dozens of local sellers and artists filling the hall. Costumes and cosplay are welcomed and encouraged\, creating a fun and family-friendly atmosphere while guests explore the show floor. \nThe event will also feature a live recording with Mike from The Reel Debaters podcast and appearances by the Star Wars Clubs of Manitoba featuring the Mandalorian Mercs\, who will be raising funds for charity. This year we are marking a monumental milestone: the 100-year anniversary of the legendary Les Voyageurs Canoe Race. \nIn 1926 Winnipeg Canoe Club Commodore Fred G. Thompson started a 100 km canoe challenge from Winnipeg to Lockport via the Winnipeg Canoe Club\, in honour of his brother\, Lieutenant Edward “Pace” Thompson. This iconic race helped define a century of grit\, endurance\, and deep connection to Manitoba’s waterways\, one we are proud to continue today! \nThis year’s Red River Paddle Challenge will weave the heritage of Canada’s longest-running canoe race into a vibrant\, modern celebration—uniting past and present through special centennial programming. \nSpecial events will include a historical party at The Forks Historic Port including re-enactments\, historical displays and celebrations. We will also release special edition swag and the opportunity to participate in the 110 km Les Voyageurs Challenge! \nBy hosting this historic year\, the Red River Paddle Challenge isn’t just paying tribute to a rugged paddling tradition—it’s reigniting a purpose that has inspired generations: to explore\, respect\, and celebrate the rivers that have shaped our shared heritage. This is more than a race. It’s a living story. And this year\, you’ll want to be part of it! \nFor 2026 we will be offering two race distances for paddlers to choose from! Both distances are open to all paddle craft. Prizes are awarded for both races. \nRed River Paddle Challenge\nThe Red River Paddle Challenge (RRPC) is a 44 kilometre (~27 miles) long distance single day paddling race on the Red River beginning in Winnipeg\, Manitoba and ending down river in Lockport\, Manitoba. \nLes Voyageurs Challenge\nLes Voyageurs Challenge is a 110 kilometer (~68 miles) ultra distance paddling race on the Red River beginning in Ste Agathe\, Manitoba and ending down river in Lockport\, Manitoba. Les Voyageurs is a two-day staged race where participants paddle from Ste Agathe to The Forks Historic Port in Winnipeg on day one and then on day two participants join in with the Red River Paddle Challenge paddlers and paddle to Lockport.
